EUSMI is a consortium comprising European facilities for research on soft matter. Its goal is to provide European soft-matter researchers, both in academia and industry, with open-access infrastructure. This platform supports and extends their research activities, covering synthesis, characterization, and modeling.
Thanks to funding from the European Union’s H2020 program, access to research installations was offered free of charge, and financial support for related travel and accommodation expenses was provided until end of 2021.
This service will now be available again for four years starting in March 2024, as EUSMI has joined the RIANA initiative. RIANA aims to advance nanoscience and nanotechnology by integrating facilities from seven European networks of top-level research infrastructures.
Thus the soft matter community will have access to the broadest possible variety of scattering, microscopy and spectroscopy techniques as well as to a high-performance computer facility for numerical simulations, free of charge upon successful application.
An online systme for the submission of applications for experimental or computer time will become available during summer 2024.
