EUSMI aims at providing the community of European soft-matter researchers with an open-access infrastructure as a platform to support and extend their research, covering characterization, synthesis, and modelling.
The use of EUSMI installations is offered free of charge and financial contribution to related travel and accommodation can be granted under certain circumstances.
EUSMI received, financial support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 731019 (EUSMI) which was regrettably terminated end of December 2021.
Currently EUSMI works as a hub for scientific collaboration brokering between infrastructure providers and potential users in need of instrumentation which is not available at their home institutions.
Access is offered to infrastructures covering characterization and synthesis of soft-matter materials as well as modelling by high-performance supercomputing. Further, users will benefit from scientific consulting by the experts at the access providing facilities.
Proposals for collaboration can be submitted through the online proposal system, and will be subject to evaluation by the leading scientist at the requested facility.
